ACM SIGCHI Winter School : Colombo, Sri Lanka from 2nd-4th Jan 2024

ACM SIGCHI Winter School: Connecting South Asia to collaborate and develop research interest in HCI

Human-Computer Interaction is very much underrepresented in South Asia, with fewer opportunities for continents to interact as a coalition. This Winter School will bring together HCI interest researchers, students, academia and the industry in South Asia to discuss and educate about the potential of HCI as a field; HCI research methods, conducting HCI studies, writing papers and publication venues including the travel grant opportunities from SIGCHI. We aim this winter school for undergraduate students, graduate students and aspiring industry practitioners, academia in the South Asian Region. The sessions will provide education about SIGCHI’s wider goals – Promoting the expansion of HCI both globally and locally by bringing in new people to the field, and keeping the HCI field intellectually, technically, and creatively alive.
